The Menlo College Oaks enter the NAIA national tournament with a 22-5 overall record and a 10-0 mark in the California Pacific Conference. This will the the Oaks’ seventh appearance in the national tournament. After being named the conference defensive player-of-the-year the past two seasons, Laurel Donnenwirth was named this year’s Cal-Pac conference player of the year after averaging a double-double, scoring 15.8 points per game and pulling down 10.7 rebounds per game. Donnenwirth ranks eighth in NAIA DII in total rebounds. As a team the Oaks shoot free throws at an exceptional rate, knocking in 75.8% of their attempts from the charity stripe, good for second best in the country. In last season’s NAIA tournament, the Oaks dropped a close first round matchup to the Huntington Foresters, 77-72.
