The Cardinal Stritch Wolves come into this year’s NAIA DII National Basketball Championship as the fourth seed in the Naismith bracket. After a 24-7 overall season with a 15-4 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference record, the Wolves earned the third at large bid and join five other CCAC teams in national championship contention.
This season, the Wolves have seen success on a high level, defeating No. 2 Davenport 67-62 in October and ended the regular season ranked No. 7 in the nation.
Cardinal Stritch is led by senior Emily Neitzel, who leads the team with 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds a game. Sophomore Maranda Huibregtse also helps lead the team to success, averaging 3.5 assists a game.
The Wolves will be facing five seed Lawrence Tech (Mich.) (24-3) in the opening round on Wednesday, March 9th at 7:30 PM.
